# Wristune > Wristune is an iPhone and Apple Watch app that syncs your own music onto the watch so workouts do not need a phone. Wristune transfers MP3, MP4, and M4A files from a paired iPhone to Apple Watch for offline playback. On iPhone it can use Cloud Drive, Synology Audio Station, or any direct audio URL as a source. After sync, playback runs on the watch; the iPhone can stay home. Wristune does not sell or host a music catalog. An optional subscription adds a YouTube proxy. Checkout is on the website via Stripe. The server URL and personal API key are emailed to the address entered at checkout, then entered in the iPhone app under Settings → YouTube proxy and synced to Apple Watch. File sync of your own audio does not require that subscription. The Wristune app does not collect, store, or transmit personal or sensitive data. Music files, source URLs, and settings stay on the iPhone and Apple Watch. The website subscription uses the checkout email only to deliver the API key and server URL. Support: support@technija.com. Wristune transfers them to the paired Apple Watch. 3. Play from the watch library. The iPhone is not required during the workout. A physical iPhone paired with an Apple Watch is required for file sync. Sync does not work in the iOS Simulator or without an active pairing. ## FAQ - Can Wristune play music on Apple Watch without the iPhone nearby? Yes, after the files are on the watch. Sync needs a paired iPhone. Playback does not. - Which formats are supported? MP3, MP4, and M4A. - Is Wristune a streaming service? No. It syncs files you already have, or audio from a source you connect. The YouTube proxy is a separate optional subscription. - Does the app collect personal data? No. The optional website checkout collects the email you type so the API key and server URL can be sent there. - Where is Wristune? On the App Store for iPhone and Apple Watch, and at https://wristune.com/. Questions: support@technija.com.
